Class Recordings
PSFT records all sessions in order to provide coaching to staff and for customer service and compliance purposes. Also, for lesson or presentation review and reinforcement. We care about our students and staff’s privacy, which is why we’ve implemented recording guidelines to safeguard those privacy rights.
PSFT makes recordings of all live classes for safety and quality assurance.
Coaches can view session recordings via the zoom platform in order to improve their classes. Sometimes we make session recordings available to families enrolled in the session. Enrolling in class does not guarantee access to class recordings - they are shared at the coach’s recommendation and Director’s discretion.
Before viewing a class recording on PSFT, families must agree not to share it with anyone. While parents are welcome to take pictures and videos depicting their own students participating in sessions, it is never okay to capture or share other students' faces or names.
PSFT uses recordings to provide coaching to staff, for customer support, and for compliance purposes. We take students' and coaches' privacy seriously and never share class recordings (or any of our community members’ personally-identifying information) outside PSFT for marketing purposes or for any other reason without our communities' explicit consent. PSFT retains videos for 90 days, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted.
We never share class recordings (or any of our community members’ personally-identifying information) outside Public Speaking for Teens without your explicit consent.
Comprehensive Staff Screening
We screen coaches and sessions and this involves several steps:
Application and Two Interview Process Step: we screen every coach for their background, teaching experience, subject matter expertise, and motivation. We also assess their coaching setup.
We provide authorized virtual backgrounds to identify branding
Review sessions: every session is recorded and reviewed by our Staff. We check for the quality and adherence to our Content Policy and the relevance of the coach’s background and experience.
Background check: we conduct an SSN-based background check for identity verification and sexual & criminal record checks before a coach starts their first class.
Safe Platform
Public Speaking for Teens sessions is powered by a video conferencing platform called Zoom. All Zoom meetings on PSFT are wait room protected to ensure only coaches and students can access them. Additionally, our sessions are customized to give control to coaches (not students) over who enters the session, as well as basic functions like screen sharing and audio/video, which allows coaches to take swift action in the event of a problem arising in a session.
We also require pre-registration into all sessions with a maximum group limit.
Dedicated Trust and Safety
We monitor and screen regularly for unwanted materials or behavior, consistent with our code of conduct. We swiftly investigate and respond as necessary.
Privacy Commitment
Our privacy policy outlines what information we collect from you, how we use that information, and what choices you have regarding how and whether we can use your information. Further, PSFT not only complies with the measures set forth by the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) with regards to children under 13, but extends COPPA protections to all students on our site. We also want your students to understand their privacy rights and how we keep their information safe, so we use a Student Privacy Guide that is intended to convey the same information in a child-friendly way.
We encourage parents, or a responsible adult designated, to monitor their student’s participation in PSFT Sessions. Students interact with the coaches and other young speakers over group video chat or by posting and commenting in the PSFT chat room.
